Rooted in Community, Driven by Purpose

Empowering Rural Communities, Shaping Brighter Futures

The Development and Social Empowerment Centre (DESECE) is a non-governmental organization born from grassroots efforts in 1993. Starting as a Community-Based Organization (CBO), DESECE focused on empowering communities through initiatives such as DELTA, WINDOW, Human Rights & Civic Education, Gender Mainstreaming, HIV & AIDS awareness, and Organic Agriculture.

As community needs evolved, so did our mission. In 2006, DESECE transitioned into an NGO, allowing us to expand our services and reach more people. We now work across Bungoma, Trans-Nzoia, and Kakamega counties, delivering transformative development education and support to some of Kenya’s most vulnerable communities.
